OUR LOGO
IS OUR MOTTO
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is like a stained glass window. There is a common bond, the lead, that holds it all together; yet it is the varied colors, sizes, shapes, textures, and the position of each piece—as well as the perspective in which it is viewed—that produces the masterpiece. Each piece stands on its own, yet is dependent on the other pieces to create the whole image. They all must work together to achieve the common objective.

OUR STORY
Consulting with Purpose
In the early 1980’s consultant James R. Samuel became aware of the need to teach individuals,
groups, and organizations how to succeed in an increasingly diverse environment. With the rise in
cultural, racial, ethnic and gender diversity, James sensed a lack of pro-active measures being taken
to transform this increased diversity into a marketable advantage. James began to share with others
his belief that “human differences do not necessarily have to promote human divisions”. He began to
visualize ways in which differences could be better understood, diversity valued, and barriers
overcome. James believed our commonalities could strengthen once we truly understood why
diversity, equity, and inclusion are important. In order to help organizations leverage the power of
differences within their workforces, James undertook the challenge of conducting seminars,
workshops, and lectures on valuing diversity.
In 1995 Interscope Consulting (now The Insight Consultants) was formally incorporated. His
approach was, and continues to be, straight forward and simple—Diversity Awareness, Knowledge,
and Skills will become increasingly more valuable as we face the future.
The future is now! Diversity is a fact of life. The 2000 Census affirmed the dramatic demographic
changes that are effecting virtually every aspect of our American ways of life. With the terrorist
attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 came an intense sense of vulnerability and
the need to better understand others who are unlike ourselves.
Since Interscope (The Insight Consultants) was founded, so much has changed in our nation and in
our world but the goals we sought to fulfill remain constant. The ability to transform our differences
into our advantages is no longer a need but a management necessity. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
is now widely recognized as a critical factor for organizational success.
